Yes try out! There are some very solid golfers but also some not so strong. Definitely go for it!

TJ has sent golfers to compete at UVA and Yale within the past decade and their current #1 is a surefire D1 recruit as well. The coach is excellent.

That said, there are almost always opportunities at the back end of the top 6.

TJ is frequently competitive in pretty much all "individual" sports.

It's a matter of scheduling priorities. You can schedule an individual sport like tennis or golf around an academic schedule, it's harder to do with a team sport.

It's pretty competitive - regularly the district champions in a fairly weak district - but a kid with a fair amount of experience would have a chance to make top 6 straightaway to compete in events of significance.
