I would probably spend a bunch on my kid's birthday because he wants to invite everyone and I don't want to crush the idea that "everyone is welcome" from his instincts. The birthday party I really want to do is at one of those ropes course places that would cost me about 1500 if my kid invited everyone he wanted to. I'm not doing it because that is ridiculous, but I kinda want to.
Does getting nails done, eybrows and lashes dyed and underarms and bikini waxes count as frivolous spending?

This thread is fantastic already! Airplanes, lego sets, concert tickets--all awesome things. I booked a room at the Waldorf last weekend for DH and I. It was pretty spectacular. We're Hampton Inn people when we travel but for a night without the kids, it was luxurious. I'm getting there slowly, but next time I might order room service.

A personalized license plate - $15/year or whatever but I smile every time I see it
The penguin encounter experience at the baltimore zoo.
An animal acting class - training my dog to be in commercials or in movies. I don't have the schedule to drive to gigs in NYC or Philly, but it was so fun to train the behaviors and one day I'll have a flexible job.

“Euuuuhhhh, should I buy a $1,000 gold necklace that I’ll take care of and one day melt down or whatever when gold hits its peak? I only put $34,999 in my roth this month, so naughty.”
So let’s share some of the dumb/amazing things you’ve spent money on because you can’t take it with you and I’ve got a fraction of a bitcoin burning a hole in my pocket. And not just because of the lithium battery.
Bring on the boats. The delivery Egg McMuffins. The hotel suite with a dining room you never used. Etc.
