Teaching people how to network is like teaching how to make friends or ask someone out. Different people will have totally different methods that will work for them because of their personalities, how they come across to others, how they're perceived status-wise.

The most useful advice I have is that networking successfully isn't about trying to get something, it's about getting to know someone and what they're interested in and what they need professionally. And figuring out how you might be able to help them. But that's a weird thing to practice.

The title says most of it. Despite being terrible at networking, I've been tasked with organizing a presentation on relatable, fun, modern networking skills followed by a happy hour with the group practicing those skills. Anyone done anything in the networking space that fits the bill or have any ideas?

I know there is a lot online, but I've found a lot of duds in the hours I've looked and thought I'd just throw it out there here.
