I don’t think they matter that much.

I think some schools may add more admitted students dates in April when the accept more students via RD.

Join the FB parents page. Offer $100 paid job plus a nice meal to be matched with someone’s child who is looking for an easy gig. We had offers from kids in our kid’s intended major.

I sent them offer together, then we met up after and took the tour guide and another student to lunch. Got a very inside view of dorm, facilities, culture…

Maybe not as good as the curated event, but very enlightening nonetheless. Totally worth the $200 investment.

I found someone to give us a tour on reddit once.

Yes OP, have her let admissions know the dates don’t work for her. They will welcome her to campus anytime before deposits are due.

Many will be unable to go, so not an issue. It’s perfectly acceptable to ask about alternative opportunities to connect, they are now selling to you. The response will vary depending on school. You can always ask your network too in case any current students in your area they can speak with.

My dd hasn’t heard from her top choices yet and is still undecided as to where to go even if she gets in to her top choices. But due to conflicts we may not be able to go to admitted students days for all of them. We know one of her top choices she has an important conflict.

Can you have an admitted students day experience even without the big event? Can you call the school and ask to connect with a student in intended major? That sort of thing?
