We’ve had a great experience with In10sity Futsal. They have Southern MD and VA teams and try to go to 5 Winter tournaments. Heading to Atlantic City with them this weekend.

False8 has started to move in the year round direction for futsal as well

With Futsal Nationals in Richmond this year I would not be surprised if they number and tempo of spring and summer teams rises.

Doesn't the MD Development Soccer League do summer futsal? Not sure how good it is.

Futsal has helped our kid learn to navigate tight spaces and gain better ball control. I would love if DC had a year round league.

I have commented before it's too bad it's just seen as the option to pass the time in the winter.

There are many people who see it as more than something to pass the time. For top level players, it is a supplemental tool to develop skills needed for outdoor (and usually they enjoy it). If you get out of the rec league bubble you will see that.

We may be launching a futsal league in DC for the 2012's through 2014's. We are not aiming for it to be ground breaking but simply a way for kids to get touches in small spaces. Conversations have already begun and the format will either be informal pickup, an informal league or potentially formally organized under US Futsal since DC people like formalities.

My kid loves futsal. We live in DC and quite tired of driving to Gaithersburg, Chantilly, Waldorf, Alexandria, etc. to gain access to the game when we have the small space actually available in NW DC. If successful, we expand it down to lower age groups provided I am not bleeding cash. I am not trying to make money. I just kids to play.

Because DC is so fragmented with clubs, it is hard to know the appetite and the DC Clubs are more territorial than our congressional parties. I have been networking hard in my age groups so I have a pretty solid database to pull from with DC players who play for about 20+ clubs in DC, MD and VA.

All this to say there is an appetite for futsal that the current futsal community is not able to provide. I am not really fond of the business practices of futsal or club soccer clubs so we have started our own thing and I encourage others to do the same and hope that we get something decent for kids inside of the beltway. Futsal is the perfect solution for the space issues we have living inside of the Beltway.

There is a difference between fustal leagues and teams though. Dynamo/Riptide/F8 are going to have teams throughout the summer that train and do tournaments, but I doubt they are playing in any local futsal leagues.

It's interesting. I would appreciate a list of summer futsal options. Dos F8 go all summer? I'm pretty sure Intensity and Dynamo do.

Are there any youth futsal leagues that my 2016 son could join for the summer? He's really enjoyed playing it this winter and wants to keep going when his travel soccer team isn't playing. We live in DC but willing to drive to MD/VA.
