Did some whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River near Buena Vista that was pretty enjoyable. Maybe couple that with a trip on the narrow gauge railroad out of Durango and some hot springs at Pagosa.

None of that is terribly "cowboy," but it's fun western stuff.

We loved Our Lazy S ranch in WY. Kid/adult activities are separate

I think Montana is good for this- out west, no.

Check out Covered Wagon ranch in the Yellowstone area of Montana.

There are upscale Dude Ranches which cater to adults, and which feature activities other than or in addition to horseback riding.

My family.. all adults.. would like to vacation out west and enjoy "Cowboy" type activities. Riding horses, hiking, swimming, other activities.

We can only really find resorts with Kid centered activities and are not really interested in those.

Any ideas or suggestions?
