Op here. Strangely enough I did go to a hematologist. Crazy, right? I have a very mild blood disorder so I honestly believe he just focused on that, and didn’t note my iron levels other than they are technically normal.

Honestly I’ve sort of had it with the medical world. They seem to look for catastrophic issues but don’t hear symptoms or low level quality of life issues. And before you say I’m going to wrong doctors, need to go to specialists who don’t take insurance, concierge practices, etc., I have done all of that. I’ve found you have to research and research and be your own advocate constantly. Which is hard when you’re sick.

Omg, that’s low. Mine was 17 and every doctor said it was fine even though I’ve felt terrible. I hate doctors.

I'm 40 and my ferritin just came back 20. Still waiting to hear back from my PCP about it. I would prefer an iron infusion if offered but have proferrin bookmarked as a backup since I don't tolerate Ferrous Sulfate supplements.

I’ve always had low iron but peri makes the exhaustion so much worse. I’ve been very happy with Naked iron supplements. They pack a punch but are gentle.

My ferritin was normal but my iron store was really low. I tried Vitron C which was recommended by my doctor but had to switch to Blood Builders because my body could not tolerate the Vitron. It's been a month, I haven't noticed a difference yet.

My endo and my pc both said my labs look fine (Endo said ‘great!’) but I feel exhausted and have a low grade headache ALL THE TIME

I just went and looked at my labs again and my ferritin is one point above the bottom of the range. And Vitamin D was low, as was T3.

What’s your ferritin level?
