I was there and it was a lovely event. Ken Burns is an amazing speaker. And Abigail was great. The crowd loved her.

One interesting thing I learned yesterday is that Spanberger started college at W&M but transferred to UVA. This was not addressed in her speech, lol.

Since we are naming names, Condoleezza Rice was the 2015 W&M keynote graduation speaker.

My daughter is a freshman at W&M and voted for Spanberger in her first election. She was thrilled to hear her speak. Thanks for posting OP. Lots to celebrate today despite devastating times for our democracy. Happy birthday W&M!

Some people are considering that school, and might be interested in campus news.

What is your problem?

The fact they spoke there is not particularly noteworthy. Even if you are interested in the school.

Exactly.
But saying what they spoke about - or any other unique aspect of their appearance- might have been interesting.

Why is it fine for people to post about shootings and hazing, but not something positive? The fact that the school celebrates its 300+ year royal charter gives the flavor of its rich history and traditions.

Why do you assume Spanberger speaking there is a positive”? I don’t know any Virginians who think she is good for Virginia -maybe some tax and spend liberals in a college town might, but not most Virginians

Yeah that's why she won by 14 points

Ken Burns was at my kid’s university in the Fall too talking about his new doc. Hillary Clinton, Condoleeza Rice and Mark Kelly also came. Jumpher Lahiri and Jon Baptiste too.

If you can get that level of detail from your kid (who shared via text), my hat is off to you! 😉

Governor Spanberger and Ken Burns spoke ! My daughter said they were both excellent. (It was Charter Day, marking the 333rd anniversary of King William issuing the school’s charter.)!
