The boos for Israel seemed louder than Vance.
The fact that Russia is banned from Olympic competition while Israel is still allowed to participate is hilarious. Unsurprising, but hilarious.
But then again Nazi Germany was invited the Olympics. So Its tradition I guess.

The world always boos America.
Until there’s a natural disaster, and America shows up to deliver clean water, food, medicine, and to dig someone’s mother out of a pile of rubble.
After we leave, it’s back to booing America again.
That’s just how it works. Why we still show up is beyond me. Nothing would change if we had the same response to disasters in other countries as Uruguay does. Which is to say, none.

I agree I feel bad for the athletes right now. It is not their fault that this country is horrific right now.
I was watching the opening ceremony.
There isn’t booing when the American athletes parade in - it sounds like loud cheering. Guessing there is a big US audience there. The booing starts when Vance is shown on the screen.
In contrast there was some booing when Israeli athletes came in.

It started as soon as JDs stupid face was on the big screen. The cut back to the athletes in 2 seconds to stop the boos. They showed other leaders of different countries for normal amounts of time with no issues.
