How old was he/she until they stopped wetting the bed. Thankfully its not an every night issue here.

Her dr did tell me that it is quite common up until 10 years old to still wet the bed. I might have to remind her every 30 minutes to go. I shouldnt have to at her age though.

Thanks for the tip. Yes she is tall but very slim. Are you referring to the cloth training pants? That might be an option as I just dont know what else to do.

My ADHD kid is like this. Could she be neurodivergent? The ironic thing for my kid is she literally potty trained herself at age 2- night and day. Then when she was 9 or 10 she started waiting waaaaaay too long to pee and end up getting her underwear wet. I don't worry about it- honestly, just try to help her remember to take care of herself

You don’t need more reminders you need fewer. And those reminders can’t be “do you need to go?” They need to be let’s take a break and go now. Who needs to pee every 30 minutes? You’re not teaching her to listen to her body but rather the clock. Then you say things like “I’m not playing with you until you go. Just sit on the toilet for 30 seconds with the water running.” If she says I don’t have to, but it’s been 2 hours since she last did “ok I’ll wait. Prove that you don’t have to”. If you make her go every 30 minutes she’ll hate the toilet. Also it’s not a potty anymore, it’s a bathroom.

My kid did this too. No medical cause we could find. It stopped when she wanted it to stop, which was around 8.5.

I set a rule that if she had an accident, she had to shower immediately. Not as a punishment but as a consequence because no one wants to smell like pee. That annoyed her enough to incentivize stopping. Took about 6 months though. Also, I suspect she just matured socially enough to realize that if she did this at school - and she used to - she'd be very embarrassed. That is probably what finally did it, but I didn't ask and she didn't say.

This can be a sign of constipation, and a child can be constipated even if they’re pooping a little bit every day.

I have browsed for other posts on topics similar to this. My daughter turned 8 in Dec and still has "accidents" sometimes. When I say accidents, its her waiting till the last second to go to the bathroom and dribbling then running to the bathroom. Not full blown accidents but just enough to make her pants damp.

I have set alarms to go off every 30 minutes to an hour. I prompt her to try which typically I get "I don't have to" but I make her try anyways. Time outs. Taking away electronics. Rewarding her for staying dry all day. Numerous dr. visits and all have resulted with her having a clean bill of health. No UTI's or anything. You name it I tried it.

She never has this problem at school that I am aware of. She has lots of friends and isn't being bullied. She loves school. We have been out of school for 2 weeks because of the snow and ice and she cant wait to go back (I cant either!!!) haha.

I just don't know what else to do. She does have the occasional night time accident but that only happens like 1-2 times every 2 weeks or so. Has anyone dealt with this from the older child? I feel at 8 she should be way past this by now.
