FWIW, I actively scrub my information from those places. Most people should. Too much potential for invasion of privacy or misunderstandings.
For example, I recently found out that someone with my (unusual) name down to the same middle initial is on a registered sex offender list. They're 10 years younger and live in a different state, but even so...
