Same, one of the best decisions of my life. Zero regrets. I went to the best rhinoplasty specialist I could find. Also, I didn't need general anesthesia -- i was in a deep twilight state. So the danger was much less. I'm actually not sure I would go under completely for a cosmetic procedure.

OP, straight and bulbous sounds like the harder kind to fix. Removing a bump or straightening and not disrupting the skin seems like the fastest to heal (just cartilage). But messing around with fleshy bulbous part probably means stitches and more healing. A good surgeon will be able to give you specific advice for your case.

It's not a dangerous surgery and the recovery is not that bad. What's bad is if you have sinus surgery with it. But the nose job only....recovery doesn't take too long except for the swelling. It's not excruciatingly painful the way a tummy tuck would be.

I was 19 and it was a long time ago. The first week of recovery was kind of a blur . . . resting and out of it on pain meds. After that week, I think I had to wear a splint for another week and probably looked like s***, but I felt fine.

I've had two, the first when I was a teenager and because my mom told me I needed it. We went to a family friend who specialized in breast reductions. My nose is so much worse. I had another one and it made it better but it's still so unnatural. The tip is super long but it's flat and straight. I feel like everyone knows my nose is awful/plastic.

How brutal was the recovery and did you feel it was dangerous? I've never had anesthesia beyond local and I am terrified of that but also always wanted to get a nose job. My nose is straight and not "awful" but I would look so much better if it were a bit shorter and less bulbous at tip. I am so scared of risking death for vanity and it is stopping me.
