Has anyone happened to drive by a turf field this afternoon now that the snow is melting? I’m curious how much more there is to go, but I’m out of town so can’t look myself.

The fields have to be completely free of any ice before they play. That seems highly unlikely even with some melting this week, if they aren't allowed to manually clear it.

Atrocious? It's supposed to be pretty warm the rest of this week. Serious melting. Although Sunday morning looks like weather-wise it could be rough.

The Adidas tournament in Richmond cancelled today. I can't see how VDA puts this tournament on up in NOVA.

I couldn’t believe they waited so long to cancel the girls. It was obvious to everyone it would have to be cancelled. Same with the boys, but they will selfishly wait until the last minute in hopes of a miracle rather than letting parents and players be able to plan other things for the weekend.

It has not been canceled. However, unless the snow covering Howison and long park magically are cleared on their own before next week Thursday, I can’t see how it would be held.

For county owned fields, a best case scenario is them being playable sometime the week of Feb 17th. Best case.
