How long ago? I didn’t really know about the school until like a few years ago. I was surprised that so many people (including friends from other countries) were telling my kid it’s competitive to get in last year after he was admitted!

Same thing. Large universities have greater ability to recruit students. Not many students on the west coast have heard of LAC’s on the east coast but they know about the Gators.
If they're hiring grads based on sports outcomes, they get what they deserve!
