I noticed my coworker whose arrived late to the church for my wedding.

I wondered why I saw him on the way out but not on the way in. And it turns out he got lost and late and made it to the church after I went up the aisle.

I wasn't offended but I noticed.

And I think the wedding should be honored as the actual point.

I vote for attending the reception. (And I'm a religious person.)

Are you sure the tween is not allowed at the ceremony? If that is just at a church, presumably anybody can just attend. Then you can just drop her off and go back to the reception for an hour and a half.

So you’re saving an extra 1/2 hour with your tween? No problem. Just be there for the reception part since you already rsvp’d.

DH and I have a wedding/reception to attend this weekend. Our tween isn’t invited and so she will be staying home, which she does, but doesn’t love. She tried to find a friend she could hang out with or spend the night with, but each had a conflict. No local family, local friends will also be at the wedding.

Thankfully the venue isn’t far, maybe 20 minutes, and the wedding will take place at the reception venue. The wedding is at 5, the reception promptly after.

I’m considering skipping the actual wedding (DH will attend) and spending as much time as I can with DD, heading over for the reception as soon as DH texts that the wedding is over. The reception goes until 10, so I figured this would make it so she only has to be alone for 4.5 hours max. But is this rude?
