they are only the same "system" as in they are all MD public schools. Your degree is from the individual institution. you get a degree from Umd College Park specifically vs a degree from UMBC vs UMD Global Campus. Just like there is a difference in U Michigan Ann Arbor vs U Michigan Dearborn. There is also a difference between UofCal Berkeley and UCal Merced. Anyone who says differently doesn't know what they are talking about.

If you go to UMD at Shady Grove your diploma says University of Maryland just like college park it does not say UMD - Shady Grove. If you go to UMBC at Shady Grove the diploma say University of Maryland, Baltimore County. If you go to Towson at Shady Grove your diploma says Towson.

There is no UM-Shady Grove.

This is true. "The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is a University System of Maryland (USM) Regional Higher Education Center (RHEC) offering upper level undergraduate and graduate education in Montgomery County, Maryland."

Pretty much the same thing as UMD-CP.

It’s nothing like UMCP or UMBC. I took classes there 20 years ago as a grad student enrolled at JHU. As a PP said, you don’t apply specifically to this campus, you need to be a student at one of the schools that use this campus as a satellite location.

It's a, satellite location fur the universities connected with it. It's not an actual separate institution. Its a small number if buildings in Rockville.

It is a satellite campus for all of the schools in the Maryland system. You have to apply and be accepted to one of the Maryland schools. It's not a stand alone university.

I think they have very limited offerings there. The campus is shared with multiple MD schools. It’s nothing like UMD College Park. It’s just a few buildings, 100% commuter, population skews older, etc. My DD took some DE classes there and I looked into some grad programs there.
