My DH is 6 years older, and we're in our 50s/60s. Issues around retirement are surfacing.

The difference between 39 and 48 doesn't seem bad, but 60 and 69, 70 and 79, 80 and 89, the gap becomes a bigger issue.

Not a big age / experience difference at that age OP. He may end up having some prostate / ED / urinary issues starting in his 50s, like many men.

How much more life experience does he really have from you at 39?

One of my ex’s was 44, I was 24, so he definetly had a lot more experience and their were pros in our relationship, but a few negatives too. The more you align, the better.

Not enough information but possibly:

Pros: Confidence, financial security (maybe), mature, experienced (in the sack).

OR THE FLIP SIDE

Cons: Insecure or bitter after a divorce, broke (because he's giving money to an ex), sexual dysfunction issues (as likely than not at 48). Also potentially health problems around the corner.

You're not looking to have him knock you up, are you? Most men at 48 aren't looking to do the baby thing again. So if that's an important thing for you, prepare for disappointment.

He is sweet and so old fashioned! An ex-marine who has interesting stories and a take charge masculine energy that I find hot!

He is a total gentleman and I know he finds me attractive and is nervous to touch me. We have kissed and he is good!
