Curious what school? Now I am even more nervous.

If we get waitlisted to our second choice I think our child will need to go to our zoned public school. Which also means she would have to skip to 1st grade. Oh what fun.

OP here:

We did already tap in to two families who are connected at that schools and they had already put in a good word for us in person and through email to admissions. But we can ask them again. We will wait to send a letter come Thursday when we get the official waitlist notification. We were told that it won't move until around Tuesday of next week.

Yes, it is all a game at this point. Not too much about who is "smarter" "better" etc. It is just a game.

It is an all girls school correct. One is not giving away any info yet, but my child is one of two girls that they are interested in. Our top choice did say to our PSD that my child will be wait listed.

"devasted" I agree is a strong word, but yes I am upset. From the start we had only gotten great feedback and even wink winks, so yes I am pretty damn mad/sad. I am not investing in a school I do not think my daughter fits in to or that we are excited about as a family. That is too much money to give away.

Only two schools have notified so far so you are giving away the school a bit. If you get into your 2nd choice, that’s a big win. The PSDs can only push so much so the school was probably more enthusiastic about the other child. The waitlists might move but not much. Focus on your 2nd choice. I know lots of families who are extremely happy at what was originally their second choice. Maybe even send them a first choice letter to up the chances.

Top 3 choice still sounds like a win! Dream bigger! Your child is 4/5 - you are trying to do the best you can right now, but also things can change if necessary in the future too! I agree with prior comments that some of these schools are more similar than different. They also can change over the next 10+ years, it’s a dream to lock in until graduation but not a given! You need a reality check and God if you are “devastated” over this.

I assume you have a daughter since there are not multiple TT boys schools. B/S/C are all roughly equivalent to be honest. Don't be devastated. Realistically, your daughter will be fine at any of the three, and I am sure your PSD is working hard to ensure that you will get into one of them.

That being said, I know of people who have gotten into all three of the TT girls schools off the waitlist, so if you are waitlisted at your top choice, definitely send an email saying you will immediately accept a spot if you are offered one.

Did your PSD tell you you would be waitlisted? How do you know already? I would imagine he / she should be scrambling right now to get you a Yes at your #2 or #3?

My guess is they’re applying from a connected preschool. You have feedback and know where you stand by this point.

Waitlists move at many schools (especially the girls schools, which is my assumption as there aren’t multiple TT boy schools).
