DC and VA kids are rare at Michigan. They have to go deeper into the pool to yield some. Because UVA is at minimum a better deal for Virginians.

MoCo has a fanbase.

Just go to one of those other three, not sure the point of this thread. The pool of kids applying to UVA from your school was likely larger and more competitive than those applying to MI, UNC, and especially UGA.

We are in state.
It does not make sense.

Statistically, the odds of getting Michigan and UGA and UNC were much slimmer then getting UVA.

UVA holds an extremely high bar at DMV privates. At the private my kid graduated from last year every kid admitted to UVA EA or RD was also admitted to an Ivy and most of these were HYP.

Multiple kids were admitted to an Ivy and deferred/waitlisted by UVA.

UVA hates VA privates is the explanation we are primarily hearing.
