Or reapply for the Spring and do 1 semester at cc.

I saw a suggestion somewhere saying that do not reapply a college that rejected you. It is not specifically for UMD. More a general suggestion.

That’s silly … I wouldn’t apply for the fall without some CC but most CC kids reapply and Spring is a different game.

In Maryland...UMBC, Towson, Montgomery College eventually to UMD

Out of state...Pitt, Wisconsin, Ohio State, other big flagships (some with merit to bring COA closer to UMD)

Wisconsin-Madison actually is considered a higher college than UMD.

An increasingly popular (and rising) university is George Mason University, plus its close geographically.

Since UMD became more competitive UMBC seems to be the popular backup.

But, JMU does offer a lot of the same experience, if not more since DC's more "away." It wasn't upsetting because UMD was a long shot for this particular DC. Tried to get them to consider Towson, but they just did not like it as much as JMU.

JMU is a really good school and the campus is beautiful.
