My 4th grade AAP kid scored a 240 winter MAP. She's at a center school, where the top two of four (or five?) math groups are considered level IV math. She's in the second math group, with about 30 other kids.

Our local level IV AAP was the students who were designated “full time AAP”/level IV, plus whoever the principal decided to put in the class. Some problem students were put in the class to even out the classes and not have all of the misbehaved kids in one class.

Yes, the winter score will be reviewed. We are just finishing up at our school and have looked at the winter scores.

my full time AAP 4th grader had 231 in the fall (that was 98%). he scored 241 on the winter (not sure the %). I think 217 for the fall would probably be around 90%. 237 is likely 97-98%. i agree if they aren’t admitted you can appeal with winter scores and second quarter report card if they get all 4s.

If not admitted, you can use the new score in the appeal.

My child has similar scores and has been in advanced math all year - meaning my child was selected for advanced math before any MAP testing occurred at all so I could not tell you if your child qualifies or not based on MAP scores, this is the first year they are using MAP and nobody knows if that is being used in AAP selection or not. We didn't reapply for AAP because math is the only difference anyway.

Fall scores are usually the last scores included, however, if DC is rejected, I’d get the full picket to confirm and then file an appeal with new scores.
