Thomas is not bad. If anything, he is too good in terms of policy changes, but he does not understand the stakeholder environment and thus helps authorize policies that please no one faction (eg, Equity coalition, Affluent down county parents, G&T parents) consistently. Thus we get decrees that are probably good for the long, long run (like getting rid of 50% rule or offering different magnet options), but very bad in the short run, primarily for him.

Get the superintendent lady from Alexandria public schools. Their press release on Wednesday announcing the details of Virtual learning for all students and food distribution centers for needy kids was a pleasure to read.

It wasn't a choice. It took that long to get rid of McKnight because of some holdouts on the board. That gave the board a short timeline on which to hire and we have Taylor as a result.

Never heard of Interim Superintendents? MCPS has used them before. No rush to hire.
