Both in EDP. SYC and Loudoun both in EDP too so most of the top non ECNL teams from VA are there now.

NCSL is definitely a notch (or 3 down). As most noted - the ECNL affiliated clubs in VA will play VPSL, the others will largely do EDP for u11 and NAL for u12. The top u11 division of EDP is brutally competitive and none of the teams there (except maybe Potomac) would be challenged in NCSL. VPSL isn’t as deep any more, but Arlington and Richmond are both strong u11 clubs.

💯 U11 EDP 1 is a blast and the peak of the youth experience. Quality competition without excessive travel.

U12, it all goes to 💩. Everybody is split up into different leagues and different formats.

You’re not kidding. Coppermine, Bethesda, SYC, Alexandria, Loudoun…. Good stuff. When Pipeline and McLean ask to move down you know thats a top shelf group.

Be curious where they all end up next year. Coppermine, Bethesda and Loudoun are likely NAL bound. Don’t know about others.

Mclean Green moved down? Why?
They were one of the top age group clubs in the region at one point.

That ship has sailed on the boys side.

They lost every-single-game last season. Great team and talent. Bad coach and leadership

Mclean actually lost a bunch of good players to places like Alexandria and SYC (aka path to MLSNext).
Happening at every age group.

Herndon did that for boys, due to lack of teams on the girls side. Playing up an age group in spring.

Yes. For Virginia, for example, if the club is ECNL or ECNL-RL, then they are playing in the VPSL Pre-ECNL league at U11 and U12.

A few of the top club teams may also play an additional league season in EDP, more commonly in the spring. They may also add VA State Cup, which is in between a tournament and a half-season.

If the club is MLS-Next, whether HD or HD+AD, they've been putting their top U11 and U12 teams in EDP, often playing up a year. They may also do an NCSL league season, playing up a year, plus VA State Cup.

Looking on the NCSL website re U11. Wondering if at U11 top teams are not playing in NCSL. Is this is the case, where are they playing? or am I reading the chart wrong?
