Be full pay and apply ED too. This strategy worked for a student at DC’s private - was premed through most of HS - after meeting with private college counselor they switched to public health/health and society/ anthropology etc. Parents helped align extracurriculars to fit to the story.

For this major, Hopkins and Emory are the best fit. Did you apply to any liberal arts? Somehow I think the profile leans LACs.

How much SAT score is above 1500 will matter. Is it above 1550?

Which schools did kid apply to in RD?
Switch to ED2 at WashU/Vandy now if u still can.

Their numbers won't eliminate them, but those schools are reaches for everyone. Shoot their shot, for sure, but have likelies where they'd be pleased to attend, too. (There's nowhere in the public health world that you can get to from JHU but not from JMU.)

I would prob put my money on at least 1 T20 admit with that profile. Something like Cornell/Northwestern/Columbia? I know those schools all have Public Health majors

Yes, agreed - DC tried to emphasize that they are not pre-med and have the ECs to back that up.
