That would be assault.

Yes her friend was assaulted by the boy.

Alleged, right? But confirmed she threw coffee on the boy, right?

You are defending a sexual assault?

Or Tiger Parent fault...if this person was Asian.

You the same poster who keeps talking about Asian hate all over this forum. We get it, it's real, but not sure why you have to inject this in every possible thread.

There have already been a number of suicides this year, so incredibly sad.

This is a terrible situation - but even more tragic is a young woman so distraught over a disciplinary action that she took her life. Teaching resilience and how to overcome moments when life seems unjust should be a major focus of childhood. We can do better by our kids if we normalize failure and imperfections over mental breakdowns, extreme fragility and finger pointing when perfection isn't achieved.

Athletes are treated like property and AD/coaches are extremely abusive.

More oversight is needed.

She didn't spill it. The family claims that she was already dealing with mental health problems and then the disciplinary notice.

What, the school started a disciplinary case over her spilling a drink on someone? That's insane.

It was Stanford's fault.

This is such a sad situation and I hope brings more attention to the mental health needs of athletes and how schools handle disciplinary issues with all students.
