A gap year before college to work for a tech company could be interesting, but I'd find it much more interesting to pursue some kind of passion project or a more "real world" job.

I don't know how you keep politics out of it, when you've explicitly named the company...and it's one that is extremely controversial. TBH, I can only imagine that they are looking for HS grads in order to get them early, before they can fully understand the context of what they are doing.

The reality is most of your kids are gonna work for psychopaths.

Make sure he works on the plan to send these billionnaire tech bros to Mars as soon as possible so we can get back to fixing the real problems we have here on Earth.

Op kind of bizarre that you “want to keep politics out of this” but don’t acknowledge that Palantir has been a huge beneficiary of Trump administration government contracts. Is your child ok working on initiatives consolidating citizen data that may violate laws on data protection and privacy?

Not a bad idea if the kid knows what he wants. People start their small business then drop out of colleges as well. Not something new
