16th is clear where I am - completely, no melt or water and will not re freeze tonight. They actually did a good job - it was clear early this morning up here - like a four ish mile stretch to the md border

Are you saying you have been on 16th street, or are you guessing?

So friend should riskfall to leave house. Wtf

OP here,

My kid has been outside most of the past few days, shoveling, sledding, checking on elderly neighbors. The weather today is not so bad that someone can't walk a couple blocks. In this case, a couple blocks is all they'd need to get to 16th street, which is why I'm asking about that, and not about the side streets.

So teens can play you want to get on the road?

Selfish and stupid. This is not a day for that. What is wrong with you?

DC govt has asked non essential traffic to stay off the road.

My teens are hanging with friends today since they shoveled this morning. But only allowed to take public transport. For one that meant a metro ride plus a mile walk because the more direct bus line wasn't running. The other one stayed closer to home.

I do feel for people who are mobility constrained. Thankfully my teens are okay mobility wise. I told them they could only hang with friends they'd be willing to walk all the way home from in case metro stopped running.

The past few days? The storm didn’t start until yesterday.

Our road in the suburbs is plowed, because we live on the route to a hospital. My teenager really wants a friend over. Friend lives a couple blocks off 16th street in DC. Is it realistic to drive down and get them if they hike out to the main road?
