When was it signed? That is the congress.gov tracker and all it says is "to president" and it does not say "became law" so I assumed that was accurate.

Congress really has one job - to pass a budget. They are just unwilling to do it on time.

I wish there were a rule that no one on Capitol Hill gets paid until a full budget is passed -- and a ban in retroactive pay for Capitol Hill if not passed on time. With a rule like that, they would develop focus and pass a budget on time.

Were those agencies the only agencies passed Congress?

Yeah I'm trying to figure out if my agency is that bill or not. We had enough carryover to stay open throughout the last shutdown though. Not sure how much is left.

I think they funded VA, MilCon and something else I forget in the bill that ended the shutdown. The senate passed another bill funding several other agencies like commerce, interior, DOJ that is waiting for the president to sign. I think the one stuck in the Senate now also covers DoD.

Did anything get passed? My work went into a frenzy last week because the latest minibus showed us taking a cut we couldn’t absorb. Doge centralized a lot of functions and is charging us a lot more than we previously paid, which has really hurt us. This admin loves our agency so you’d think we could get funding.

Supposedly the six remaining funding bills have been bundled together in the Senate, including the DHS bill. I think the House is in recess and there isnt enough time to separate them even if Thune was so inclined.

The betting markets went from a 9% chance to a 78% chance overnight.

Can someone explain what part of the government hasn’t been funded yet? And do people really expect a partial shutdown … AGAIN?
