I know they are offering a few kids a decent amount for baseball. Not sure who you think their best players are but there are a few 8th graders they are after that are highly ranked and can pick their school.

If you are recruited to a WCAC school
It’s 100% acceptance unless you score something crazy low in the HPST…like in the 40s.

We reached out to the baseball coach at SJC and he watched a tournament where my son was playing and my son also did the Summer camp for middle schoolers at SJC.

May I ask what your son’s financial package was?

Zero…there are no athletic scholarships and we are very much full pay.

That’s correct they don’t offer athletic scholarships but they absolutely find a way to get kids money depending on how bad they want you whether you need it or not. We know a few kids in the WCAC that don’t qualify for need based aid but because they want a kid, they offer financial assistance.

Well, they asked about a financial package in a way that implied an athletic scholarship. The very best kid on the SJC baseball team received zero, yet I know at least one or two kids who essentially never played received $$$s because they qualified for aid.

Goto their prospect camps where coaches can see your kid. Play for a travel team that has relationships with the school/coaches. I’ve also seen other kids currently at the school mention a kid to the coaches and it started that way.

Do some research to see which club teams have relationships with coaches at your targeted schools. Then try to get your kid on one of those teams.

If you know a parent that already has a kid on the team, get them to talk to the coach for you.

Parents of student athletes who got recruited successfully by private high schools, what schools did you go through the process with and what did it entail?

Have your kid email the coach (even if you have to write it for him..it should come from him).

Some people will say it’s a waste, but I recommend going to the sports summer camp if it’s ran/attended by school coaches. Gives coach the opportunity to see your child, but more importantly the child has an opportunity to meet the coach. Child can get a sense of the coach and possibly interact with current players since they often work the camps.

Most schools around here have the coaches contact info on their websites. Reach out.

start by reaching out to schools you are interested in and meeting the admissions team and asking them to introduce you to the coach and athletic director
