Very weird take OP. Why would she be worried about you? Stay inside, drink cocoa and chill out. How old are you? If you are over 50, you have survived many snow storms.

I’m even from CA where rain drops sends us all screaming and ducking for cover but the only time I would expect my adult children to check on us would be if we were in an actual evacuation zone for fire or flood or mudslide. If we are up at Tahoe and get snowed in or have a big blizzard I wouldn’t expect calls.

I spoke with both my kids and offered a few reminders ,(mainly due to the extreme cold). For example, fill up your car with gas and chg your furnace filter. My kids are local so I am sure we will compare snow amounts.

It's not a child's job to look after a parent until the child is fully grown and the adult is elderly

Anyways to answer your question. Yes, both of our young adult children checked in on us and advised they were prepared and staying home.

I am retired, and live alone hours from her—but mine has not. Plus, she got annoyed that I was suggesting preparation plans to help her (re: car issues she is dealing with).

She does not “get” how nice it is to have someone looking out for your welfare.

(Trust me, as someone who feels very much on my own.)
