Only for your in boundary school. So if your boundary school is university park and they have a Pre-K you'd only have that Pre-K as an option unless you apply to the Montessori programs. You can't go to another school's pre-k. I believe the exception to that would be a special program school like Frances Fuchs which is Pre-K only and for kids with developmental delays or autism.

Does the spot have to be available for my in boundary school or open across the county?

Your child can also qualify for free Pre-K if they have any developmental delay. My son had a speech delay and our local school held a spot for him.

PP is correct, a lot of elementary schools end up with open spots for income ineligible students, but you don't know that until pretty late in the summer.

What are you looking for in a PreK? Full time with after care, a school type environment, a more play based approach?

I am use to DC universal PK are there any options that are not tied to income?

If not any recommendations for private PK in the Bowie, Largo, College Park area?
