The financial requirements and obligations to play ecnl with the travel expenses is amazing

I just heard from someone about hotel and airfare costs before adding gas, food and the rest

Are they finally going to consolidate in the DMV?

It would benefit all of the Pre-ECNL and Pre- MLS Next kiddos

Why would it benefit them? Not trolling, just curious

VA kids aren’t playing MD kids and vice versa. They each are stacking wins against subpar competition instead of playing each other. Clubs are jumping ahead a year and missing out on development because there is local competition they are not playing.

Once they hit HS, VA and MD teams want to play different seasons.

Where? That seems unlikely.

ECNL RL needs to shrink down especially in VA
NPL would be a good place for the weaker ECNL RL teams
Local leagues for the rest
Could do a promotion relegation style

I don’t think ECNL wants to go below 10 teams in the MA.
Agree that RL needs to shrink way down. 19 teams way too many. If you are a top team you just crush your opponents. Too many games decided by 5 or more.

Shrink down? No thanks. I like all the local RL teams. Traveling a ton for a league game is not necessary for RL level, its not that elite.

I think that’s where it is going. May take a few years to get there.

This wouldn’t surprise me. I was thinking EDP. There is going to be consolidation with the US Soccer, USYS, and Club Soccer stuff. Does VPSL and NCSL fall under their governance? I’m too lazy to google. If Yes, then this seems likely.
