However, it’s generally acknowledged your kiddo will need a 4.4gpa headed into senior year, plus top rigor and 4 years of a foreign language for a shot at UVA.

Most kids do min required 3 years, does 4 years of a foreign language increase chances?

Yes, UVA recommends four years of the same language. It’s in the admission materials online. And has been discussed ad nauseum here. Most of the top 30 schools want to see four years.

The only thing that's new is the zero supplements.

UVA is need blind in admissions? Is this new?

No. It’s been need-blind for a long time and covers 100% of need. One of the few publics that do it

Anybody made it in with only 4 out of the 5 areas? Also has non-academic spike.

Those charts show stats but not essays, ECs, recs. Does it show CAS vs nursing vs engineering for the high school?I wouldn’t even bother trying to guess. They sound like they have as good a shot as anyone with those stats.

Dean J says no real difference in ED vs EA. Stats same and ED doesn’t give much of a boost.

The SCOIR scattergram for 2026 has updated at my DC’s school to show the ED applicants that were just admitted in December. My DC is right in the middle of all the ED green admits. However, DC applied EA. Will DC get admitted or does DC need higher stats to get admitted since it is the EA round?
