I’m not sure if I’m even sold on Potomac. We have applied for our child. Feel like there aren’t better options in the area. Potomac is basically the only option and that is why it is so difficult to get admitted.
Don’t worry about it. Your kid will likely be wait piled if they are a good student and rejected if they don’t have good enough grades to get into the school.

Nothing is so great here. Just slightly better than the public school and kids receive a little bit more individual attention but charges $50K more than the public school. Suck it up.

I think the most important thing is the connections my child will make with high profile, wealthy, well- connected families of their friends. It is not what you know, but who you know.

it's one of the few k-12 nondenominational schools in northern va. That is going to make it hard to get into, plus it has a beautiful campus.

Small class sizes with great teacher to student ratios; strong and competitive academics; great sports/robotics/drama; committed to its core values; wonderful community; and great facilities on a beautiful campus.
FYI - kids come from all over DMV. You see the buses everywhere. It's hard to get into because it is one of the top independent schools in the DMV.
The DMV is blessed to have many great independent schools, religious schools and public schools. Find the right fit for your child.

If you stay in public, but still do the same type of investment in your child, the outcome will probably be the same. Except for kid's friend circle, etc.

Yes. Rich area, lots of families in McLean area afford&prefer private. But not enough seats.
School is very selective and therefore the students are those who are successful and whose parents invest heavily in them.
