You’re not wrong and yet, the graduates I know are all successful adults.

Visit and take a tour and see if the student likes it. I say this about every school, drive around and see what’s nearby, what food, shopping, off campus apartments look like. Also, does it have the major that is needed. Salisbury can be a positive experience for students. Great business, education and health programs. Most students I know have found jobs in the DMV area and maybe Delaware to start. It’s close to the beach.

Is it on the same level as U of Md, no, but not all kids fit at College Park. It’s not a bad option at all. Looked at it for my student. Wasn’t the right fit for her but we know of her friends that are there and thriving. Have a few neighbors that have graduated in the last 3-5 years and have jobs in Maryland government, defense contractors, teaching, healthcare and working for local companies.

Salisbury, Towson and UMBC are all really good colleges with different personalities visit each and see which one your kid likes the best.

Also look at specific programs to see which ones your kid is interested in.

Yes, especially for business and health, I think.
