Oh come on. The school offered pointers to easy-to-find online resources and the in-house counselors. They did not deprive parents of essential time-sensitive information. What’s typical here is that they did a good job of communicating.

As Beauvoir parents, we think the school handled this very responsibly. They didn’t know for certain that this was a hoax until the police completed their sweep, and at that point the children were safely sent home. They kept us in the loop about going into lockdown and sent frequent updates that everyone was safe while the police were investigating. And now they’ve sent a more complete explanation within hours. Our children have no idea what happened other than a weird end of the school day. We genuinely don’t know what they could have done better, and we’re glad that they’re so prepared for this type of situation.

“Just prior to 2:00 pm today, we received from the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation (PECF) Police a report that Beauvoir had received an unverified call containing a specific threat of violence to the Beauvoir campus that law enforcement later discredited. ”

Yes, but the emails so far haven’t given any indication of what triggered the lockdown.

No, but word is that it is all of cathedral close, not just BVR. Waiting for an update is not easy.
