- Chisholm
- MV Cook
- MV 8
- DCB
- LAMB
- Stokes Brookland
- Stokes East End
- Global Citizens

Also please let me know if I missed any immersion charters. I’m not interested in other DCPS neighborhood Spanish immersion schools both because of the commute, and because I don’t want my kid to be one of the only OOB students. At least with immersion charters kids come from all over the city.

LAMB and DCB have huge wait lists, far longer than the others. Tells you which schools are generally considered the most desirable.

LOL! The most desirable isn’t necessarily the strongest. Tells me how much you know about these schools….

You can probably count on one hand the number of people in Washington DC who have first hand experience at more than one of these schools. People know their experience and they know the rumors they've heard about other schools that may or may not be true. Probably better to skip all the hearsay and anecdotal BS, and just look at how people are voting with their feet.

We are not talking experience at all these schools. We are talking data and you can bet DCI has all that data of the kids coming in from the immersion charters……

We are at DCB and have been happy. My kid is in 4th grade and has friends on our street who also attend Stokes and LAMB. All of those families are happy and there are more similarities than differences in our experiences.

From what I've heard MV8 has stabilized a lot in recent years. I have heard a ton of instability at MVCook. I don't know anything about Chisolm, global citizens, or stokes EE.

No way. OP is in CH. That would be a commuter nightmare. Totally not worth it. Plus DCI is the better middle school and you get the high school too.

DCB because it's farther but a good school
Stokes Brookland if you don't mind the poor math stats
LAMB because parents honestly aren't that happy with it, but stay for the DCI feed
Chisholm because closer to you
Global Citizens but mind the new location
Stokes EE because it's far and has low stats

You could look into Houston DCPS

Of all the spanish charters above, MV8 has the best stats in terms of kids at or above grade level.

Mundo Verde comes with a lot of drama

Op’s kid was probably a newborn when that thread started. A lot of things change in 4 years.

+1. Agree with MV8 as #1.

BTW, the area where DCB is located is a nightmare with the drop off and pick up. Total disaster FWIW.

If you are serious about languages, Chisholm is a dead end. Your kid won’t be fluent, even proficient, just doing elementary.

The immersion charters get preference to DCI which is not only a good school but also an IB school and very strong in languages in addition to offering the IB diploma.

They wouldn't be one of the only OOB students though.
