Our ES's PTA sponsored cultural assemblies. The speakers presented twice (once for K-2 and once for 3-5). Some speakers you could call are

Kamyar Arsani (Iranian frame drum musician)
Curtis Blues (blues musician and educator)
Christylez Bacon (hip hop artist)
Barry Louis Polisar (author and songwriter)
Daniel Tani (former astronaut)

Do they think parents will convey lessons learned to their kids on those topics?

Of course. And be aware of things generally. You’d be surprised how many parents bury their head in the sand or just are unaware of a whole slew of things.

This would be better at the Hs level when kids are a little more mature and brain more developed to think about future

The goal is to get kids excited and interested in school before they get to high school so they aren't playing catch up. If a kid gets a memorable appearance from an architect in middle school, maybe they focus a little bit more on math in high school.

The state mandates career exposure start in secondary school because studies have shown that students who think about careers by 7th grade have better outcomes.

high school students spend time in clubs, making up work, or going out for lunch if open lunch and they will probably not attend. tho clubs do bring in speakers occasionally.

Our MS bring some in over lunch and lets the kids sign up to go. It's been good for my kid (who also hates the chaos of MS lunch).

Does your kid's school bring in guest speakers? Who organizes? Can be in the format of an assembly, residency(??), or smaller setting with a small group of students and school personnel. Any guests that left a positive influence on your kid or kids were excited to hear? Was it in an ES, MS or HS?
