It won't taste good made ahead. What will save you time is if at night you get all the pans, plates, bowls, utensils laid out in the places you'll use them in the morning.

You can premake the egg/cheese and freeze or fridge it. Then in the am, toast the bagel, while it's toasting throw the egg in the microwave for a short blast (depending on if fridge or frozen) and then pop it into the bagel and go.

You can follow something like this for the egg:

I would not recommend freezing the bagel with the egg, as the bagel will need more time to thaw than the egg. If you want to do an entirely frozen sandwich, go with the english muffin or something thinner/less dense than a bagel.

you can make them ahead and freeze.

pull one out the night before to thaw and then either microwave or cook in toaster oven.

Make 5 bagel sandwiches on Sunday, wrap separately in foil, and each morning heat one in toaster oven on 350 for 10 minutes - see how it tastes, and make adjustments as preferred (e.g., if the bagel is too soft for your liking, unwrap the sandwich for the last 5 min of cooking - or if it isn’t warm enough, leave in toaster oven for 15 minutes, etc).

I know you said you are pressed for time- stick the sandwich in the toaster oven when you start getting ready so it heats while you get dressed.

If he is picky, he probably doesn’t like the texture of the microwave egg.

Making ahead doesn’t ave you time and the frozen options take just as long as making it. PP is right that it literally takes a few minutes.

Picky kid will only eat bagel and egg sandwiches in the AM but we are strapped for time. Is there a way to make these ahead of time and toast them in the AM? Any store-bought options that come close?
