I just got to look at the player card from his MSI Classic Team
It is a USYS logo in the background with my sons phot on the right hand side
then it says the following
MEMBER PASS
STATE: MSI CLASSIC League
Name: XXXX
Birthdate: XXXX
Team:XXXX
Season: XXXX
ID:XXXX
EXP:XXXX
It doesn't say Rec or anything which makes me think this probably can be used for EDP tournaments
I'm still warning you if you do this behind your EDP club's back it can backfire. Not always, but please keep it in mind.
I appreciate the warning but is it really going behind another teams back when you paid almost 3K? You have attended every practice and played in all of their games? My son also happens to be a good player who if anything has helped build their program?
What business is that of theirs if my son decides to play in a tournament if his main team has nothing going on during the weekend?
Anyhow, I already told them he plays for an MSI Classic team but that their practices and games take precedent. I'm not going to ask for their blessing for my son to play soccer.
But I do appreciate your warning. If they have a problem we can leave.
They shouldn't care, but the easiest thing would be to ask them directly which you clearly don't want to do. I'm just warning you of the downsides. I hope it works for you honestly as the clubs shouldn't have that much control and I'm very much on your side.

But MSI doesn’t issue either for Classic players, they just manage the league).
His EDP team should have issued him a USYS card and will use that to register him for tourneys. In GotSport, he is probably listed with MSI as a rec player and his EDP team as a travel player. (Source: my kid has double carded on an MSI Classic team and EDP team)
Our parent run MSI Classic team has only been able to register for tourneys that also accept rec teams bc we can’t produce USYS/US Club cards.
Anonymous wrote:So he already has two cards? The card he is playing EDP on has to be a MSYSA travel card. If MSI also has a card for him, I’m guessing it is a MSYSA “rec” player card. I would check that, but if the whole team has rec player cards, MSI would probably register for a tournament using those cards and the fact that he has a travel card wouldn’t show up anywhere.

But suppose the MSI classic team that he also plays for wants to enter a tournament? Can they use the player card they have for him?
I’m trying to avoid asking his main team foe the edp card.
No you can’t use one card for a team for another team. That card represents insurance for the player. The player card is owned by the club.
