See how crowded it is when you plan to attend. Even if it's close..if all you can do is a treadmill because its so crowded... don't bother.

I think $220ish and yes.

Yes, this gym is very nice, OP, and good classes.

For me to pay this much, I need the gym to:

- lock the doors after a class start time. NO latecomers.
- kick you out if you take cellphone calls.
- or are wearing perfume/cologne/fragrances
- or grunt loudly and slam you weights.

I think they do refuse late entry to the classes. No idea about the others.

Not just during class, but don't take calls when you're on the treadmill, weight machine, etc.

I don't know.

If you join, please do post and tell us about it. I have many times considered Equinox because like you I'm older and very much need to get in shape and I thought the lux feel of a really nice gym might really help me do that. I toured the Tysons one but never pulled the trigger because it was so expensive, and I no longer live close to one.

Also you get two hours of free parking by validating. You can also loop back around for another two hours if for some reason you want to be there longer and it’s not inconvenient at all.

My only complaint is that the only restrooms are on the first floor in the locker rooms, none on second floor where everything is.

I’m considering the Wisconsin Ave one. I live pretty close by.

Gotcha, that’s the one I was talking about. Bethesda needs a reno (we used to go there before City Ridge location opened up) and the other one downtown is worse.

I mainly use the weights and cardio machines but people seem to love the classes. LMK if you have specific questions.

It's convenient- that's a number one issue to not going to the gym.

Number 2 is do you like the classes? Ask to try some first. If there's a competitive vibe to getting into classes, how early you have to be, or people coming in late, those are all "no ways" for my anxiety. But you won't know the vibe until you see for yourself.

Do they have classes you would be interested in trying?

Is Equinox worth the $$. There is one close to me and I think I would work out more because it is easy to get to. I’m getting older and desperately need to get in shape. To get myself to go, I need to make it as easy as possible to go. I’m terrible at doing stuff on my own at home. I do better in group environments
