Yessss. First time I have heard this in 25 years or more. Back in the day, it fit in a context of “super-super-old-people-would-like-this” music. The vibe is like Brady Bunch but not like the funny reruns I grew up with.

It’s beautiful.

I love the song, but I don’t particularly like Cat Steven’s version. You might try these as they’re less “Brady Bunch”. For some reason, trying to paste them in as youtube videos isn’t working, but here are the links:

Everyone will be mad I said this but I have that thought A LOT about Taylor Swift songs that don't get radio play so I wasn't aware of them, when I hear them randomly. I often think, damn that girl is talented. Maybe the music isn't always a tour de force, but the lyrics are often really creative and/or evocative.

I was watching Licorice Pizza and it had a Paul McCartney and Wings song, "Let Me Roll It" is a great song. Hadn't heard it in years.

I heard the song Loverboy by Billy Ocean the other day on the radio. That guy had pipes and that song is underrated.

Also, I used to hate the song What’s Up by 4 Non Blondes. Heard it again with the TikTok trend and it grew on me. Also, Linda Perry is insanely talented. I think I was just thrown off by her look in the video as a teen.

Another one I love 20+ years later is Teenage Dirtbag.

It is SO good and describes a very specific feeling.

At the time it was so corny and strange sounding. No one liked Iron Maiden, couldn’t relate to that lyric.

But years later, it feels right, like it wasn’t specific to Iron Maiden, it was specific to loving crappy(?) music when you’re young

“You know what’s a good song?”

Here’s where we talk about — ‘hey that is actually a good song’ for one that wasn’t as well loved at the time is was released.

At my office, there was a good song in the background, it was sounding familiar AND good but I couldn’t quite hear above the noise. Thought it was another band/couldnt put my finger on it.

It was John Mayer, “heartbreak warfare”
