This is totally a subjective answer. The modern definition of abusive has been overused. Yell at a kid and not “support” them with flowers and rainbows and parents are emailing the DOC.

If it is true abuse, easy solution. Document it, take it the DOC. Handled.

You can dig into the website to find dozens more examples...but any abuse by the coach is a reportable violation. Particularly bullying.
Coaches and Club staff must take this certification annually and it goes into detail on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.

You need to show cause of a violation to remove a coach or all the parents complaining to the director/ board of directors to remove a coach.

Abusive is not well defined. But safe sport has some great guidelines you could look into. If you can show "bullying," then report that to your club leadership.

One problem that I have noticed is that some clubs do not police their coaches or check on them during training to evaluate them. Heck, some clubs do not even ask for feedback. So, how are they supposed to know a coach is not doing a good job? -They wont know unless parents document detailed concears and send them up!

Depends on what we're calling abusive. If they punch a player in the face they would be removed quickly. I assume you are talking about verbal abuse which can be more subjective. Some people think saying mean things is abusive, others think it's just a coach being tough and part of development. Can you describe more the obvious abuse you are seeing?

in my experience, they don't. we had to leave ourselves.

Not really by definition - one person's view of "abusive" is another person's tough/intense and gets good results/outcomes. The lines really get blurred at times.

They dont as long as the coach brings in players.

Why is it that despite the obvious, clubs allow abusive coaches to remain in a program?
