Interesting. Our old private would try to steer kids to Northeastern. My friend was pretty upset about it. Daughter ended up at Stanford.

Public school. No hand holding or steering at all, which I loved! Parents know their child the best and I was happy to do the research and counsel my kid. Accepted ED to a Top 10.

No. Top kid, told to apply anywhere they wanted, they had full school support, only ED if had a first choice. Accepted at three T10/ivy unhooked.

+1 we knew going in that the counselor has a technical role play, but has absolutely nothing to say about where to apply or not. Whenever I hear someone mention Naviance on here, I’m like, must be nice! We didn’t have access to anything like that.

Ugh, that sucks. But why do you think your DC was steered? Were they not considering the REA as their first choice?
