Tulane is above average - from a top school I agree but in general you need to be above average. Syracuse depends on the program but for general I agree - for Newhouse it is higher. Agree with the others. Indiana has gotten more popular and might get another small bump from football but I would still call it average.

OP needs to ask their school the medians and dig into the details of their school's SCOIR

The average students at our median GPA and the SAT you listed at the privates in our area land at JMU, clemson, UTK, Auburn, and VT if not going for a stem major.

if you are at a Catholic School - the Catholic Colleges and Universities are a good fit: St. Joe's, Duquesne, SLU, Dayton...

Other Private: High Point, Elon, Furman

State Schools: Michigan State, U Conn, College of Charleston, Rutgers, Iowa

And All of these are great schools for the right kid. What does your child want to do?
