I think this is a reflection of the change in the VA standard deduction for 2025. Jan 2026 is the time time you will see that benefit take place.

Ask them wtf. You don't want to owe a lot. The standard deduction increased a little.

Are there any 2026 tax tables changes in VA, my per pay period tax went from $274 to only $67. I have a feeling my employer may have made a mistake.
