I totally understand not letting you try it on - those suits have only so many wearings.

Is this a new policy? Of course, they only want you to try on if you will most likely buy, and they measure you to get you the right size, but they have never told us we couldn't try on.

+1 my DC has tried on suits there many times over the years after being re-measured due to growth. We always purchase there (as recently as a few months ago). I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking a small business to measure and then turn around and order online.

To the PP - your DC should of course buy whatever size they prefer. That said, I personally wouldn’t go up a size from what the in-store professional recommends based on measurements. The fit is key to getting the most out of an expensive item. A bigger suit may mean it’s easier to put on or is initially more comfortable, but it might also mean you’re not realizing the benefits of wearing a tech suit.

Same, measured + tried on

This was not our experience and perhaps they have changed their policies.

The salesperson used a tape measure to take DDs measurements. Then based on the measurements they would recommend sizing for different brands/models based on the brand’s guidelines. DD then tried on the suit. They had my daughter wear gloves when trying on the suit.

They’ve kept a file of my daughters sizes and measurements for years.

OP here. I imagine shops aren’t going to give a size so you can just order it online. If they do, I would think there would be a fee. We fully intend to purchase the suit from the store, just wanted to get him in the correct size.

I have a question for anyone who has used Metro Swim Shop for a tech suit fitting. After searching the forum and finding positive reviews for fittings from the Metro in Fairfax, I didn’t really come across any for the Glen Burnie location. We are in Delaware, so Glen Burnie is obviously closer. Any input on fitting at the Glen Burnie location would be appreciated.
