Why do you say that? I think IBDP is good, depending on what you want from it.

What is good about it?

I've heard good things about it. As far as the local IBDPs go, I think it's one of the best in MCPS.

There's the countywide (Richard Montgomery, for one more year.....) and the three regional IBDPs (Watkins Mill, Springbrook and Kennedy) and then some local IBDPs (B-CC, Einstein, Rockville).

Each school has strengths and weaknesses so DO NOT believe that your child will have the same experience with the IBDP just because the curriculum is supposed to be the same.

What's the 8th one that has IBDP?

Seneca Valley

Teacher dependent. Not all teachers are really cut out to teach an IB level class and maybe they don't want to but there's no one to teach it.

BS grading on IB rubric. inconsistent with Mcps grading.

Program hardly teaches students anything they can't get via an on-level, honors or AP class (class/subject dependent).

Looking for more recent experiences. Is your kid in an IBDP now? I think eight schools offer the DP. Or did your kid recently (within past three years) participate and complete IBDP? How is it going? Or how was it? What was the number one thing they are learning or learned from doing the IBDP?
