We’ve placed pets’ ashes over the years under or near flowering bushes and new trees, basically in a lovely and quiet place in the yard. Do what feels good to you.

I would sprinkle them in happy dog places. I declined ashes and buried my own dog under my roses.

If you want to do this with ashes in your own yard, OK. Please do not sprinkle them in parks or other public places. Ashes kill grass and other plants.

If you really want to sprinkle them outside, at least purchase an additive that will neutralize them and make them less harmful

You could keep a large joint ashes container.
You could make glass or gems or whatever with some of the individual or mixed ashes.
You could scatter all or some of them in meaningful places.
We did the latter. We plan to be scattered there too.

Would you be willing to combine parts of one into one larger urn? And perhaps scatter or berry the remaining portions of their ashes under a special tree or bush.

Don’t keep them. That’s just more work for whoever will clean out your stuff when you die. Get a digital picture frame and upload pics of all the dogs you’ve cared for.

I declined the ashes for my beloved dog recently why keep them?

I buried my cat's ashes in my back yard under the bench. I just didn't see the point in keeping them around. The pet I loved is gone, the ashes are just stuff.

We have lots of pet ashes from over 25 years. Dogs and cats. We've fostered and done what amounted to "fospice" and so we have lots of those little boxes of ashes.

We'd like to combine them into a single urn. And with any excess, maybe do something with them (like make into one of those glass balls).

Any suggestions for options? What did you do with your pet ashes (besides displaying them; our home would look like a crematorium). We want to keep them close to us but in a way that is tasteful. Thank you.
