I know more about healthy nutrition than my primary care doctor for sure. During my last check up she asked me what do I do that I have such a healthy weight ( I'm 48 Female, 5'4" with 115 lbs), my blood work was perfect. I told her what I eat and bake. I grew up in Europe, our food was always fresh, unprocessed, made from scratch. Fruits from orchands, vegetables from our garden, local meat. Our bread would spoil in a few days, if not eaten promptly. Unpasteurized milk, sauerkraut etc. You get the idea. Food in USA in general is the biggest disaster. There is no other country that has so much processed food in their stores and so many fast food stores on each corner. Kids eating Pop tarts for breakfast, sugar loaded drinks all day long. It truly is sad to see that. The good thing is that there is also healthy food available everywhere here, you just have to know what to buy or order it online. But an average American seems to really not understand how to navigate the nutrition world.
